ECY Surveyors was built from the experience acquired over the years by Emanuele Calabrese, born of the island of Ischia to a family with a long history of seafarers. Emanuele began his career on large cruise ships in 2001, serving as a marine engineering officer. In 2006, he obtained the title of Unlimited Chief Engineer Class 1 Reg III/2 for pleasure craft. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in overseeing new yacht constructions and major refits.
Emanuele has got experiences on a different constructions builder Yacht`s like Hessen, Benetti, ISA, Rossi Navi, Perini Navi , Mondo Marine, Baglietto shipards.

As Chief Engineer, he has always been responsible for all aspects of the vessel from a technical point of view including but not limited to the mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and AV systems.

Emanuele’s mission is to guide yacht owners or those undertaking major or minor refits in unlocking the full potential of their vessels. Drawing on years of firsthand experience onboard and deep expertise in yacht systems, we identify countless improvements, recommendations, and modifications to enhance every aspect of the yacht. Whether addressing issues in the engine room or optimizing other areas, our knowledge allows us to help you avoid common pitfalls and achieve superior performance, safety, and comfort—ensuring an unparalleled onboard experience for owners and crew alike.

Emanuele is a registered surveyor at the Chamber of Commerce of Imperia , a hull and inspection damage and repair certified expert by Lloyd’s Register. Emanuele Since 2024, has been a Full Member of the Society of Marine Engineers and Ship Surveyors ( SCMS ).

Emanuele is a Member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS).

Paolo brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team, honed through a 16-year career on large cruise ships and the last two years in the mega-yachting industry. He began his career on cruise ships as an Engine Cadet and progressed to the position of Senior First Engineer Officer on large vessels.

Paolo has gained extensive experience in major refits, new builds, and electronic projects. In 2022, he transitioned into the yachting sector, taking on the role of Chief Engineer on mega yachts.

Capt. Davide Sassi is a seasoned maritime professional who graduated from the Maritime College Nautical School of Imperia. He began his career with P&O Princess Cruises, advancing from Deck Boy to Deck Officer through hard work and dedication.

Following a brief venture into a family business, Capt. Sassi transitioned to the yachting industry, starting as a deckhand. Thanks to his strong work ethic and possession of a Merchant Navy Master Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC), he quickly rose to the position of Captain, commanding motor yachts up to 60 meters in length.

Throughout his career, Capt. Sassi has held all deck positions, gaining comprehensive knowledge in yacht operations including maintenance, safety and security protocols, crew management, and meeting owner expectations. His multilingual capabilities—fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Italian—allow him to work seamlessly with owners and crews of diverse nationalities.

His extensive navigation experience includes:

Capt. Davide Sassi brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and international versatility to any yachting operation.

Davide Sassi’s Curriculum Vitae

Adrien is a seasoned Marine Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Southwestern University, Philippines, and nearly two decades of experience in the yachting industry. He has served as Second Engineer on various vessels and later as Chief Engineer aboard motor yachts over 50 meters in length.

Adrien has developed extensive expertise in engineering operations, vessel maintenance, and technical system management, including navigation, emergency equipment, and IT-based systems onboard. Building on this foundation, he is now transitioning into a career as a yacht surveyor.

He specializes in providing buyers with detailed evaluations of a yacht’s condition and true value. Additionally, he has conducted surveys focused on the maintenance status of engines and auxiliary systems, helping to ensure vessel safety, prevent unplanned downtime, and maintain operational efficiency.

His strong technical background, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence support his continued growth in this new role.
